RZR Fuel Tank Skid Plate - Thunderhawk PQ2178
Look under your RZR and you'll see that the rear half of the fuel tank is totally unprotected! From the factory, Polaris has installed a light duty plastic skid plate to protect the bottom of the RZR, including only the front half of the fuel tank. Most aftermarket skid plates replace the factory skid plate, improving the protection for the front of the fuel tank, but still leaving the rear half of the fuel tank unprotected. Thunderhawk Performance has developed this exclusive fuel tank skid plate for the Polaris RZR. This skid plate is manufactured from aircraft grade aluminum and provides heavy-duty protection for the bottom and rear of the fuel tank.
The Thunderhawk fuel tank skid plate is mounted to the frame below the fuel tank and also mounts to the vertical frame tubing, providing complete protection. With this skid plate installed, the bottom of the fuel tank is protected, and the RZR's rear tire can no longer throw rocks and debris onto the rear of the plastic fuel tank. In addition, the top part of this skid plate functions as a heat shield to protect the plastic cabin wall behind the seat from melting or deforming due to excessive exhaust and engine heat.
